Mr. Zych

Thank you for visiting the Hiawatha High School website. This site is designed to be an informational guide for students, parents, and Hiawatha community members. Here at Hiawatha, every day is a pleasure knowing what an outstanding group of students, family members, faculty, and staff we have in both the classroom and beyond.

We believe in our students and that all students can and will succeed in Hiawatha High School. Because we believe this so strongly, we have a student-centered “whatever it takes” vision for the school which promotes an atmosphere of high expectations for teaching and learning. It is vital to the success of the school and educational community that we build and maintain supportive relationships that reflect our belief in student success. As we work together, we can and will ensure that success for all students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns and remember that every day is a great day to be a Hawk.

Attention all students.  On the last day of school, Student council hosting one more event to finally answer the question, which class is better.  There will be a single elimination volleyball tournament. All students can play, not just boys. There must be at least 2 guys and 2 girls on the court, with a total of 6 players at one time.  All you need to do is to get a concussion waiver form from the office and get it to Mr. Bartman by Wed May 23. You cannot interrupt Finals, so don't even try. Before school, after school or in his mailbox.  Let's see who the real champions are.

Last chance to order a yearbook. This year's theme is Connecting Through Social Media which means a lot of pictures in this year's book.

Last day to order a personalized yearbook is May 23rd.

We have a lot of orders without payment. Please get your payment in so you don't miss out on getting a book! Check with Mrs. Maxwell or Mrs. Sterling if you aren't sure if you ordered a yearbook yet or if you still need to pay.

For personalized yearbooks, you need to pay by May 23rd to get your name on the book.

Hey Games Club, join us for our final meeting today from 3:30 to 6:00 in the cafeteria. You'll have a chance to add some cards to your collection this evening. I'm looking forward to seeing you all!

Today during lunch is the final Hawk Pride drawing.  Be sure to bring all tickets from this year and enter to win!

Please turn in your uniforms to Coach Wagner by the end of the day Monday or you will be charged for it. She will be available in the commons before and after school.

Summer camp information is now available in the office for Football, Volleyball, Girls Basketball, and Baseball.

Attention all Freshman-

Today is Letter Day with Mrs. Wyzard.  Please grab your lunch and head to her classroom as soon as you can.  We will be reading our past letters and then writing one more to add to the collection.

When done we will seal them up and store them away.  This year will be the last time we do this until your Senior Year.  Start thinking about what you want to write and ask your future self and have some predictions ready too.

The next time you read these letters will be days before you graduate Hiawatha High School.

Please bring something to write with when you come.  See you all at lunch.
